Letter B Weekly Lesson Plan – Letter of the Week (2)

****Guess what?!  Letter of the Week lesson plans are getting an overhaul!  I’m going through and updating all plans, adding new free worksheets and making sure all links are up to date!  I’ve created a bunch of templates too for some of the crafts that’ll make your life a lot easier!  Hang tight!  It may take some time to get through all the letters, but it’s coming soon!!  If you’re seeing this message, this post has already been updated!***

This week’s lesson plan in the letter of the week series by This Crafty Mom is brought to you by the letter B.

You may have encountered this letter as you wipe butts and boogers, search for lost buttons, and kiss boo boos.

This one should be an easy one to teach due to use alone!

Here’s a peak at this week’s Letter B lesson plan. To download, click on the image or click HERE.

Here’s a more in-depth look at the lessons this week AND the pins that link directly to these files!

Flashcards

If you haven’t already, be sure to grab my free flashcards! When asked, all you have to do is provide your name and e-mail, and you will get those goodies along with other freebies I send via e-mail! As I mentioned in the series introduction, these flashcards are designed to commit both the letter and the sound it makes to memory. This week’s card should be practiced as “b-ball-/b/.” Be sure to practice the letter A with this as well. These should be done daily and only take a minute! You will be amazed at how quickly your child picks up on them!

Books

We were able to snag all but one of these books from the local library. I had one from my teaching days too. If you are interested, I have linked the books on Amazon below. We usually buy the used ones and get them pretty cheap! Remember though, these books are just suggestions. You can use any book that has lots of words with the letter B. We read a book a day, and then re-visit it looking for the letter b, or listening for the /b/ sound.

Letter B Crafts

This B for butterfly makes the cutest craft!  We made this sweet little butterfly in 4 easy steps.

First, we cut out the template.  Next step was cutting out contact paper and putting it on the back of the B.  After that we started adding tiny scraps of different colored tissue paper. To finish we added another piece of contact paper to the top.

This sweet little bunny was very easy to make!

We cut out this color template (black and white here) and arranged it on construction paper.  Once we’d glued that down we added cotton balls to make it extra cute.  My daughter then drew on an adorable little bunny face!

This B is for baseball is an easy cut and paste activity. You can grab my template here or by clicking on the image below.

My littlest babe has a very loved teddy bear she’s carried around for years. This craft was of course her favorite!
