10 Days of Beginning Reading Strategies

Are you teaching your child to read and struggling with where to go next?

They know their letters and sounds, have print concepts, and are starting to recognize some sight words.

So, what now?

No worries, Mama!  I’ve got you!

I’ve got a decade of experience teaching beginning readers and a MA in Reading Education.  Teaching reading is my jam!

I’ve spent the past year developing resources to help teach Moms like you how to grow young readers from the ground up!

If you’ve been following my series, you know the next step is introducing Reading Strategies.  And so I’ve decided to devote 2 weeks to bringing you 10 posts  full of research based instructional techniques for introducing reading strategies to your young reader.

And it’s finally heeeerrreeee!

My own daughter has been the guinea pig for my little reading program and has started reading.  She’s at the point where she needs the support of strategies to help her decode words.

So, I’ve dug into my teacher trunk of treasures and compiled tons of information about the strategies we use and free printables to accompany them!

I’ll be adding a new strategy each day and updating the links here, so be sure to bookmark it and come back!!

Day 1:  Eagle Eye

Day 2:  Lips the Fish

Day 3:  Stretchy Snake

Day 4:  Chunky Monkey

Day 5: Flippy Dolphin

Day 6: Skippy Frog

Day 7:  Rhyming Rabbit
