Easter Basket Ideas for your 4-6 year old

Got a pre-schooler or kindergartener? Easter ideas can be a challenge for this age, so today I wanted to share a post on Easter Basket ideas in the 4-6 year range. My own child falls in this category and her Easter basket will include a few things on this list. I will say, we do try to keep Easter baskets under $50 per kid. I don’t want to leave you with them impression she will get all of these. I just want to help those like me, who struggle every year to come up with something! Hopefully my ideas can help you out!

1. Bubbles

Who doesn’t love bubbles? With spring right around the corner and lots of outdoor time in our future, it’s time to stock up! We love these no-spill fubbles!

2. Small Toy

We always try to add a small toy to the Easter baskets. Blind bags are usually a big hit at our house, and lately these LOL Surprise dolls have been huge!

These things don’t stay in stock at our local stores! They periodically come on Amazon at a good price! We will definitely be adding one of these to her Easter basket.

3. Books

As a former teacher, my kids get books for every holiday. Our at home library is a tad ridiculous. Easter is no exception. This year, I am picking from one of our favorite series.

If you have a girl and you haven’t read Fancy Nancy with her, you are missing out! This little diva is absolutely fabulous, and she teaches great vocabulary to boot!

We have been reading a lot of Fancy Nancy lately. My daughter loves her and her “big” words. We also have the cutest Fancy Nancy outfit that we were gifted by a friend. This book is one of the few she hasn’t read, so I can’t wait to surprise her with it in her Easter basket.

4. Craft set

My oldest adores horses and her favorite thing to do is paint. These Breyers paint your own horses are easy on the wallet and will definitely be a hit with her!

5. Bath Toy

My oldest got one of these for her birthday and has been asking for another since. She actually gets a Breyers catalog in the mail and makes a point of showing me all the bath horses she can “collect.” This will be on the list for her next birthday if it doesn’t make it into her basket this year!

6. Snack and Sippy Cup

We are a big fan of these combined snack and sippy cups! They are so easy and perfect to bring on car trips or play dates. I usually throw some grapes or goldfish in the top, fill it with water, and we are good to go!

7. Playdough

Playdough is another favorite Easter basket idea. I love how it inspires creativity and can be so versatile. Someone is constantly leaving lids off and letting it dry up, so we always need more. While looking at Easter basket stuff, I stumbled across this confetti/sparkle compound playdough! How cute is this? This one will definitely be making an appearance in the Easter basket!

8. Flip Flops

This is an Easter basket staple in our house! The weather is getting warmer and we are so stinking excited to get to wear flip flops again. I’ve been in search of the perfect flip flop for my girl, and I think these might fit the bill! I love how cute these are and how they will go with virtually anything she wears. I also love that they have the straps on the back. At 4, she still has a hard time keeping regular flip flops on her feet. These will be perfect!

9. Nail Polish

With flip flop season right around the corner, cute toes are a necessity! My girly girl loves having her piggies painted. This adorable nail polish set will be the perfect addition to her Easter basket! It will go even better with those fabulous flip flops I picked out! Piggy paint is our favorite polish, as it is non-toxic and perfectly safe for tiny toes!

10.Candy

No Easter basket would be complete without candy. And what could be more perfect than Kindereggs! We were STOKED to learn that the ban on Kindereggs has been lifted here in the US. My oldest was OBSESSED with Kindereggs thanks to YouTube. I love to buy big packs of these and store these as rewards and incentives at other times too. If you are wanting to pick up just one or two, you can easily find them in your local Walmart now. But if you are the queen of bribery like me, this big pack is a great investment!

Even though, the Easter Bunny plays a tiny part in the celebration of Easter for us, I still look forward to watching their little faces light up Easter morning! I can’t wait to see how she reacts to finding some of these in her basket!

These are great ideas! I always try to minimize the candy and fill their baskets with things they like. My daughter is 6, so I’ll be using some of your tips for sure. Especially the flip-flops!
