Y’all….!!!

We have finally made it to the letter y!  I hope you’re still plugging along and seeing incredible progress with your babies!  Even though we haven’t focused much at all on writing the letters, your child is likely picking them up anyways.  You are probably seeing your child experiment with writing.  One of my daughters favourite things to do is practice writing on her easel.  Of course without help, she writes  just random letters, but with my help she is already sounding out and spelling words!

Watching your child learn and independently use the skills they have been taught is a pretty awesome thing, right?

And just think, in a short time, your child could be reading!  Yep Mama, it’s ok if a prideful tear escapes right now!  You’ve earned it!

But lets finish this series first…and start with this weeks letter y lesson plan!

Halloween’s around the corner and it’s the perfect opportunity to surprise your child’s teacher with a sweet treat!  You know how wild your own child gets around Halloween.  Now multiply that times 20!  The least you can do is show your appreciation through a tiny treat!

To make things easier,  I’ve rounded up 15 of the cutest teacher treat ideas out there!  Most of these have a free printable too!  All you’ve got to do is hit Walmart or the Dollar Tree and print a tag and you’re done!  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!  I got you Mama!

It’s officially fall y’all!

And here, in my neck of the woods, it’s like Mother Nature was waiting for that date on a calendar. I stepped out on my front porch this late this morning to let the dog out and enjoy a hot cup of tea and was meet by cool air with the tiniest bite of chill. Even the trees suddenly have a red tint this morning.

My girls are so excited for fall because it means their birthday is within sight, and the oldest starting begging to decorate for fall when school started back in, and reluctantly I gave in. But…. while I’m still somewhat saltly about summers abrupt end, I’m mostly excited for all the fun things fall will bring.

So I’m full on the fall train now and have started working on some of the cutest printables and SVGs! Today I wanted to share with you the fall SVG designs I have been working on, as well as round up a ton of more amazingly adorable and FREE Halloween SVG files.

Letter W – say whaaa!?  Only 3 to go y’all!

Letter W brings to mind one of my all time favorite children’s books, Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak.  I loved that book as a child and again now as a parent to my own little wild things.

Even though I’ve got the summertime’s ending blues, I can still appreciate fall.

I mean the cooler temperatures, fall festivals, pumpkin patches, and beautiful leaves are some of the bigger allures of the season.  I’m not a fan of pumpkin spice (*gasp*), but I can appreciate the seasonal food no doubt.

And truly one of my favorite things to do in fall is decorate the house.  There are the cutest fall decorations just begging to be bought at Hobby Lobby and there are SO many cute DIY projects!  I went ahead and ticked one off my checklist today and wanted to share a quick tutorial and free SVG!  This tutorial walks you step by step through my process making this flag AND also tells you how to apply HTV to burlap!

Y’all…when I start these letter of the week posts, the cheesiest stuff ever floods my mind.

Like  the letter V.  Immediately that stinking” V for victory” cheer gets stuck in my head.  I wasn’t even a cheerleader but some of my best friends were.  That stupid cheer is still so clear, but I can’t remember where I put the spare car key.  Go figure.

Anyways…I guess the price you pay for admission to these  blog posts is my cheesy intros at the beginning, right?   Maybe that little “V for Victory” ditty is stuck in your head now too.

In this house we do unicorns.  Lots and lots of unicorns!

My equine obsessed oldest has branched out into the world of unicorns and I.absolutely.love.it!!!  I’m currently in the very early stages of planning my girls 2nd and 5th birthday party and the them is unicorns.  More to come on that later.

Anyways…So as we look at this week’s letter u lesson plan, you are lucky I don’t have you reading unicorn books and doing unicorn crafts all week long.  Though that does sound like an awesome weekly theme.  True, it may be lacking in educational value but how amazingly fun would it be?

For now though, you’ll have to settle for plan on letter U.  Don’t worry this week’s lesson plans still have lots of cute crafts!

It’s almost fall y’all!

I’m one of those people who has to be drug out of summer kicking and screaming. I love the sun, the longer days, swimming, campfires and cookouts. Summer has always been my favorite season.

That said, fall has a beauty all it’s own. Of course, I love the fall foilage – who doesn’t? I love festivals and carnivals and the brisk but not yet bitterly cold fall nights. But what I love most of all about fall???

Tonight, all the letter T brings to mind is me being truly tired.

For real y’all…this transition from summer back to school has been hard!  My girls are trying to adjust to their earlier bed time (I know…I know…should’ve started it sooner) and are cranky!

Nevermind they aren’t sleeping great either.  Almost every night, one of them comes crawling into our bed at some un-Godly hour waking me up.

But enough complaining.  You’re not here to listen to me whine.  You’re here for the Letter T Lesson Plans.  And tired or not, I still managed to whip them up for you!
