Trolls Birthday Party

Several months ago, my youngest discovered the movie Trolls.  And by discovered, I mean became utterly and completely obsessed.

We watched Trolls approximately eleventy billion times. So many times in fact that I truly believe I could recite the whole movie from beginning to end.

So when we started planning her third birthday party, the theme was inevitable.  She wanted all the things TROLLS!

I got my Pinterest fingers ready and started making lists of ideas for decorations.  Y’all I could’ve spent MONTHS creating this party.  I probably would have if it weren’t for the fact that my oldest daughter wanted a completely different theme.

See, my girls birthdays are less than a week a part so since my youngest was born we’ve been combining their parties.  However, my oldest daughter is reaching the age where this is no longer what she wishes to do.  I managed to bribe her one last year by agreeing to do an entirely different party theme for her.

So in addition to a Trolls birthday party, we had a Spirit Riding Free party.

Is my crazy showing yet?

I’ve got an entirely different post devoted to that party but  for now I’m offering up tons of cute ideas for all things Trolls.

Trolls Birthday Photoshoot

One of my favorite birthday traditions with my girls is their annual birthday photoshoot.

I plan something completely centered around their birthday theme.  This year’s of course was Trolls.

I found a super cute Poppy costume that she wore for Halloween and stuck her in it.  I also bought the pink troll hair headband on Amazon.  They both were relatively inexpensive.

We had a ton of trolls toys so I included them in our photoshoot along with the decorations from the party.   I’d bought some fabric scraps and threw together a quick , colorful rag-tie banner.

The end results are some of my favorite b-day photo shoots ever.  This is the child of 1,000,000 different facial expressions.

Trolls Birthday Outfit

For the actual birthday party, I used a Poppy SVG I found on Etsy and created a cute little leotard.   I found some inexpensive white ones on Amazon and whipped up a simple design.  Layering the vinyl was a bit of a pain but it turned out super cute and she absolutely loves it!

It was the perfect outfit for her party at gymnastics and it will continue to get a lot of use at classes this year!

Trolls Birthday Party Food

I had a local baker (Tasty Tidbits and Crafty Snippets) make this super cute Poppy cupcake cake.  I made a cute little cake topper using my Silhouette.  For it I used the print and cut feature and cut out a big picture of Poppy, added a glitter number 3, and cut her name in glitter as well.  I hot glued them all on a cute paper straw and Viola!

Since we were combining parties, I only had a few Trolls themed foods, but they turned out super cute!

The first was Creek’s Crackers (it should’ve said Creeks Cheese and Crackers but Mama pro-craftinated and didn’t get it changed in time).

Poppy’s Puffs were the easiest of all!  We just grabbed a bag of Cheese Doodles, poured them in a bowl and were done!!

We had to have a little bit of healthy food at the party so turned a fruit into “Troll Hair” and added a bunch of skewers to make it fun finger food.

We found some super cute trolls plates and napkins on Amazon.  I’ve linked them  and the cute tablecloth below for your convenience.   Doesn’t get easier than delivery to your door!

Trolls Birthday Party Decorations

This party was super fun to decorate for!  I had to reign myself in from going overboard.  My first creation was a cute Mason jar Poppy.  It was super simple.  First, I spray painted the jars pink.   I found a cute Poppy SVG on Etsy and used just the eyes, nose and mouth for the jars.  I cut these in vinyl.  I actually added a light pink offset to make the nose stand out better.

I then cut two colors of tulle and tied them in a knot and popped them down in the jar.  I didn’t glue it in because I later went back and added the glitter 3s.  For those I just cut them out on my silhouette and glued them to a cute paper straw.

They turned out adorably!  Now that the party is over, they are decorations in her room.

Another one of my favorite decorations was this super cute 3.  I got the 3 from Hobby Lobby.  I spray painted it pink with the same color from the jars.  II then used the same SVG for the eyes, nose and mouth.

I again, tied some tulle in knots and hot glued it to the back.  I had to get a little creative with the headband and use materials I had on hand.  I simply glued some ribbon on and added some cute shabby chic flowers I had leftover from my headband making days!

As you can see I  also did my usual  digital chalkboard for her.  This year of course I went with a Trolls theme to match the party.  Even though these are a bit time consuming, I love the end result and the way they give us a great reference for years past.

This year I also made two signs for the party.  The first was this printable “The Biggest, the Loudest, the Craziest Party ever,” sign.  You can score your free copy here!

I popped the sign in my super cute frame that I use for all my back to school printables and was done with it!  So cute and easy!!

The second sign I made was a cute “Everything is Cupcakes and Rainbows” sign.  I grab this super cute chalkboards every time they go on sale in the Target dollar spot.  From there it’s a simple vinyl application project.  I designed this SVG to coordinate with the party supplies.  You can grab that here.

I also made an adorable Hug Time banner to hang at the party.  It was a super easy project with my Silhouette.  All I did was cut the letters and heart out on cardstock and glue them on the twine. I forgot to snap a pic at the party but I did hang it haphazardly in our playroom since I couldn’t bear to toss such cuteness!

You can find a lot of great troll birthday party decorations on Amazon.  Here’s a link to some I used, some I would’ve used and some similar to ones I found.

Troll Birthday Party Favors

Party favors for this party were simple.  I ordered some small bags of cotton candy  and added a SUPER CUTE sticker for the troll hair cotton candy that I’m sharing with you for free!  You can grab it here.

I also threw in some Trolls erasers and stickers to top it off.   I stapled on a cute party favor tag and was done!  The treat bags were a big hit!!

I grabbed all of the favors off of Amazon.  Here are some links to what we filled the bags with.

With a total of 32 kids, it was probably one of the craziest birthday parties ever!  Even so,  it was totally worth it to see the smiles on my sweet girls’ faces.
