The first few days with a new baby are like none other. All of a sudden, this tiny person has been thrust into your arms and sent home with you. Even if this is not your first child, your world is still turned upside down. Those first few days are the beginning of finding your new normal.
The good thing is, as difficult as it all sounds, those first few days are also amazing. You have been introduced to a love beyond what you ever felt possible. That makes up for everything else.
If you are reading this you are most likely a 1st time Dad or seasoned father looking for a refresher course. Maybe you’re a well intentioned baby Mama, pinning stuff for Daddy to read. Either way, you’re all here for the same reason. Soon(ish) you will be having a baby.
People tell you lots of stuff about having babies. Most of it is reminiscent of Hallmark commercials. People have a way of instantly forgetting the truth about delivery and the hospital. I’m here to tell you…It ain’t all cuddles and cuteness. There is a lot you may find yourself un-prepared for.

Spring is here, and I am loooving the site of all the pretty flowers everywhere. This time of year, we spend a lot of time outside. One of my favorite things to do is sit on the front porch and watch my girls play on the lawn. I love to decorate my porch with pretty flowers, and this precious galvanized tin planter was a quick, fun way to do just that!
Today I’m sharing one of the cutest gift ideas out there! Cute and so much fun, a washable coloring shirt makes a great present! These are fun to color and can be used again and again. We recently discovered these and they have since been making the rounds at our friend’s birthday parties! Not only are they super fun, they are also quick and easy to make.

As I sit here writing, my four year old is curled up at my feet and my 16 month old is snuggled by my side. I can see her breathing in the dim glow of my laptop. She puckers her lips in her sleep, and her beautiful blonde curls turn into a lions mane. My oldest talks constantly, and her sleep is no exception. Most nights while I write, she murmurs in her sleep. Her tiny feet are heaters on mine. She insists on sleeping touching my feet and stirs when we don’t have this connection. This is our every night. And I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
