Resources for the New Blogger

WordPress

I highly recommend self hosting your website. WordPress is my personal choice for blogging platform mainly because it provides me the freedom to mold my blog into exactly what I want it to be. It offers so much more flexibility than other blogging platforms. Additionally, there are so many great plug-ins for WordPress that make your blog work for you in a million different ways. Bluehost

This is the host I personally use. I have found their server speed optimal, and have had zero security issues. When I need help, it’s as close as a chat button away. No pesky phone calls to take up your day. Plus they are SUPER afforable which is essential for this stay at home Mom’s budget. You can check them out here

Tailwind

Tailwind is ESSENTIAL in my blog traffic strategy. While Pinterest, provides traffic for my blog, adding Tailwind into the mix exploded my blog traffic and continues to do so. I’m in the process of tweaking my Tailwind/Pinterest strategies and can’t wait to see how Tailwind will help me continue to grow my reach. If you are serious about blogging, you must check it out. Ready, Set, Blog for Traffic by Elna Cain

I cannot say enough good things about this course y’all! Elna helped me get my blog going and showed me how to optimize it for traffic. She walked me through the basics of SEO and setting my website up for success. She showed how how Pinterest could be my biggest growth strategy and got me on the path to make a steady income with my blog. This course is a MUST have for any new blogger just getting started blogging! This was the 2nd course I took and it dove deeper into the world of Pinterest and showed me how to make sure my profile was set up for success. Lauren also shared her exact pinning strategy that skyrocketed her blog to success. Victoria Moores’s Pinterest Workshop

Just when I think I knew everything I needed to know about Pinterest…this lady came along! And y’all…she taught me even more! Pinterest as a platform is constantly evolving, and it is so useful to take in tips from multiple sources.
